Overuse of steroid cream

Great article. My goldendoodle ( yr) used to have frequent wet dermatitis until I switched to a prescription food high in fish. Last week, however he developed a spot on his leg that I could not manage with homeopathics (Florasone Cream) and triple antibiotic ointment. I took him to the vet (my regular vet was out) and he gave him a shot of Dexamethasone. It has been a bad experience. Extreme thirst, such frequent urination that I had to take him out all through the night every two hours. Panting. He is losing a lot of hair when I brush him, as well. I had asked the vet if I could expect frequent urination and he said no and did not inform me of any other side effects.
The spot is not improving, either. He is wearing a e-collar during the day but can’t sleep with it, so he licks it at night. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have been suffering from this since about a week. First there was only burning itching on the thigh area around my genital. When I checked it was red. I thought it may be due to some sweating. So I stopped scratching it and left it alone. After a few days I started feeling pain in skin of some areas on my ball sack. Now it really hurt and there was a stinging sensation even at the lightest touch on it. Sometimes even if I didn’t touch it, it would still burn and pain. There is no severe itching. The affected area’s skin has become dull and appears like dead skin. While washing today, it was hurting a lot. While I was washing my ball sack, the skin there peeled off and it was so painful like no pain I’ve ever experienced. It burned. Upon peeling off, it revealed moist red skin.. Which looked like fleshy…and burned like hell when touched or came in contact with water or anything at all. I had been using the candid dusting powder.

Solution: Progesterone is a biochemical precursor to estrogen. progesterone cream alone is sufficient to restore estrogen balance and relief of many of the symptoms. If after three months of progesterone cream, proper diet, nutritional supplementation of magnesium and B6 do not relieve the symptoms, then low-dose natural estrogen may be considered. mg of natural tri-estrogen cream ( 10% estrone, 10% estradiol and 80% estriol) provides the equivalent action of mg conjugated estrogen such as Premarin. Herbs like black cohash have weak estrogenic effect. Isoflavone extracts and cruciferous vegetables extracts such as DIM may be considered as well.

  • Excessive Estrogen: Symptoms: Bloating, rapid weight gain, heavy bleeding, migraine headaches, foggy thinking, insomnia, red flushing of face and breast tenderness during the first 2 weeks of menstrual cycle.
