No metabolites of fluticasone propionate were detected in an in vitro study of radiolabeled fluticasone propionate incubated in a human skin homogenate. The total blood clearance of systemically absorbed fluticasone propionate averages 1,093 mL/min (range, 618 to 1,702 mL/min) after a 1-mg intravenous dose, with renal clearance accounting for less than % of the total. Fluticasone propionate is metabolized in the liver by cytochrome P450 3A4-mediated hydrolysis of the 5- fluoromethyl carbothioate grouping. This transformation occurs in 1 metabolic step to produce the inactive17-ß-carboxylic acid metabolite, the only known metabolite detected in man. This metabolite has approximately 2,000 times less affinity than the parent drug for the glucocorticoid receptor of human lung cytosol in vitro and negligible pharmacological activity in animal studies. Other metabolites detected in vitro using cultured human hepatoma cells have not been detected in man.
Binding of an agent to the 3' cap of telomeric DNA can interfere with the telomerase enzyme and give the appearance of a telomerase inhibitor, providing a novel mechanism of action for anti-cancer therapy with interest to life extension. Compounds that tend to associate with this target are large aromatic compounds with a polar charge, and Berberine has been found to bind to this target with a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio with relatively high affinity; which has preceded Berberine derivatives being synthesized for higher affinity. Binding specificities for Berberine can be read here.
I had the option of buying virgin or refined organic coconut oil. I want to make body butter adding vitamin e and lavender oil. I chose the refined oil because I didn’t know how strong the coconut scent would be with the virgin oil. I don’t mind a bit of coconut scent, but didn’t know if it would be overwhelming. Which would you suggest? It seems the virgin oil has more benefits, but would the coconut scent overwhelm the lavender scent? Are there enough benefits in the refined oil or should I go with the virgin oil?
